Revolution 2012 Pilot

Revolution is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction TV series created by Eric Kripke. It's produced by J. J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions for the NBC network. It premiered on September 17, 2012.

Here's the setting from Wikipedia:
Revolution takes place in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future. Fifteen years earlier, an unknown phenomenon disabled all technology dependent on electricity on the planet, ranging from computers and electronics to car engines, jet engines, and batteries. People were forced to adapt to a world without functioning technology. Due to the collapse of government and public order, many areas are ruled by warlords and militias. The series focuses on the Matheson family, who possess a special device (resembling a flash drive) that is the key to not only finding out what happened fifteen years ago, but also a possible way to reverse its effects. However, they must elude Sebastian Monroe the General and President of the Monroe Militia who wants to possess that power for himself.

This show reminds me a bit of the cancelled show FlashForward, both are promising but I hope this one lasts longer than the former. The mystery revolves on the cause of the blackout, I am definitely intrigued.

I can't imagine a life without electricity. Experiencing a short time blackout alone drives me crazy, what more 15 years without it? In this day and age, we rely a lot on modern technology in our daily lives. I can't even wipe my hard drive without driving myself crazy, let alone not being able to access my laptop. Although, it would probably have its perks, like exercise since we'd do everything ourselves just like in the old days, we'll walk to our destinations, but it definitely has a lot of cons.

I guess we're lucky that this is just a TV show and it's something that will most likely not happen in the near future. Or will it? Dun dun duuunnnn...
