Review: Men In Black 3 [2012]

Mom and I watched Men in Black 3 in celebration of my birthday. I have followed the franchise since the first movie came out in 1997 and I also followed the animated series, if I'm not mistaken, in Nickelodeon.

My mom wondered if Frank the pug was is this movie, unfortunately, he was not but there were a couple of pug portraits shown in various places where Agent J went.

An alien that Agent K captured in the 60s escapes prison and goes back in time to assassinate his captor. Agent J finds out what happened and goes after him to save his partner. Time travel is a tricky subject, you don't know where it begins and where it ends. In this movie, for instance, there were plot holes but I based it on Doctor Who science. Speaking of the famous Doctor, I had a Whovian moment when the completion of the story involved the Apollo 11 launch. It totally reminded me of Day of the Moon [DW S06E02]. There were also instances when my brain was telling me "if the Doctor was around, they wouldn't have that much trouble doing their task". Geekery.

One of the noticeable holes was how come J was still an MIB agent if his recruiter died even before he was recruited. It could be argued that someone else recruited him but that would make another "timeline". There was a scene involving an old school de-neutralizer that had to "connect" before it can be used. It had wires and looked like it needed braided sleeving or something.

Anyway, I don't want to give out more details about the movie as it would spoil someone else's fun. What I could say is that mom cried in the end because of a touching revelation.
